‎Citroen est tout simplement en retard pour la creation d'un modele de classe moyenne. La concurrence a longuement et largement explore ce segment quand Citroen presente la GS en Aout 1970. Mais avec son style elegant, sa superbe suspension, son tableau de bord complet et son coffre spacieux, la GS devient immediatement la nouvelle reference dans sa categorie. Certes, tout n?est pas parfait, mais si y on regarde de plus pres, l'ensemble est homogene. Citroen augmente rapidement sa gamme avec un Break, une version Service tres pratiques et coiffe son haut de gamme avec la Birotor: une GS a moteur rotatif. A partir de Septembre 1979, la GS est remplacee par la GSA, un modele modernise et desormais pourvu de la cinquieme porte tant attendue. Au milieu de l?annee 1986, la derniere GSA sort des chaines et ainsi se terminent, apres 16 ans, les carrieres reussies de la GS et GSA. Dans ce livre, l'auteur, Marc Stabel retrace l'histoire de la Citroen GS et GSA. Le developpement et le contexte historique ainsi que l'evolution de tous les types annee apres annee sont largement racontes par de nombreux faits et de nombreuses photos inedites, qui en font un ouvrage de reference indispensable pour les amateurs. Par rapport au livre neerlandais sur les GS et GSA, publie par Citrovisie en 2016, cette version anglaise a ete enrichie et completee.Citroen was late with a mid-range model. The competition had had models in this segment for a long time, but when Citroen presented the GS in August 1970 with its streamlined design, fantastic suspension, avant-garde dashboard and spacious boot, it immediately set a new standard in its class. Admittedly, there were some weaknesses, but despite this, the car represented a particularly well-balanced whole. Citroen rapidly expanded the GS range with an estate car and the practical Service van. The top model was the Birotor, a GS with a Wankel rotary engine. In September 1979, the GS was succeeded by the GSA, a thoroughly modernised car and now with the addition of a long-awaited fifth door. In mid-1986, after sixteen years of successful production, the final GSA left the factory. In this book author Marc Stabel describes the history of the Citroen GS and GSA. Through numerous facts and additional photos, some of which have never been published before, the development, background and historical context are explained extensively, as well as the evolution of all types from year to year. ‎First printing of the main papers CONSTITUTING THE INVENTION OF MODERN CINEMATOGRAPHY -- from his invention of 1888 of the ""Chronophotograph"" followed the modern ""Cinematograph"" (first described here in the offered papers of 1888).It started with his invention of the chronographic apparatus with stationary plates and chronographic disk schutter... the paper of August 7, 1882, later in 1882 his description of the photographic gun, and in the 1892 paper ""Marey constructs, according to the reversible principle of the chronophotograph, an apparatus for the projection on a screen of series of pictures taken by the afore-mentioned apparatus and thus realizes the photographic synthesis of motion"" (Joseph Maria Eder ""History of Photography"", p.510).Marey (1830-1904) was a French physician, and his inventions sprang from his investigations in the physiology of the motion of men and animals.""In 1882, Marey, often claimed to be the 'inventor of cinema,' constructed a camera (or ""photographic gun"") that could take multiple (12) photographs per second of moving animals or humans - called chronophotography or serial photography, similar to Muybridge's work on taking multiple exposed images of running horses. [The term shooting a film was possibly derived from Marey's invention.] He was able to record multiple images of a subject's movement on the same camera plate, rather than the individual images Muybridge had produced. Marey's chronophotographs (multiple exposures on single glass plates and on strips of sensitized paper - celluloid film - that passed automatically through a camera of his own design) were revolutionary. He was soon able to achieve a frame rate of 30 images. Further experimentation was conducted by French-born Louis Aime Augustin Le Prince in 1888. Le Prince used long rolls of paper covered with photographic emulsion for a camera that he devised and patented. Two short fragments survive of his early motion picture film (one of which was titled Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge).The work of Muybridge, Marey and Le Prince laid the groundwork for the development of motion picture cameras, projectors and transparent celluloid film - hence the development of cinema. American inventor George Eastman, who had first manufactured photographic dry plates in 1878, provided a more stable type of celluloid film with his concurrent developments in 1888 of sensitized paper roll photographic film (instead of glass plates) and a convenient ""Kodak"" small box camera (a still camera) that used the roll film. He improved upon the paper roll film with another invention in 1889 - perforated celluloid (synthetic plastic material coated with gelatin) roll-film with photographic emulsion."" Marianas's importent history of Spain deals with the country from the first settlements to the death of King Ferdinand, who united the Crowns of Castile and Aragon.""Among his (Maraina's) literary labours the most important is undoubtedly his great work on the history of Spain, which is still remembered today. There was published as late as 1854, in Madrid, an improved and richly illustrated edition continued up to that year. The work first appeared as ""Historiæ de rebus Hispaniæ libri XX.
