‎Raoul De Keyser (1930-2012, Deinze) wordt stilzwijgend beschouwd als de grootmeester onder de Belgische schilders van de voorbije 50 jaar. Na zijn debuut in 1964 ontwikkelde hij een eigenzinnige, tactiele werkmethode waarin de scheiding tussen figuratie en abstractie oplost in de poetische band die het werk aangaat met het dagelijkse leven van de kunstenaar. Het Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst (S.M.A.K.) in Gent en de Pinakothek der Moderne in Munchen organiseren het eerste postume overzicht van werken die gemaakt werden tussen 1964 en 2012. De tentoonstelling, getiteld oeuvre, tracht inzicht te bieden in dit proces, dat ononderbroken gewijd was aan het ondervragen en ondermijnen van het medium schilderkunst. In de uitgebreid geillustreerde catalogus worden verschillende facetten in het oeuvre van Raoul De Keyser uitgelicht, waaronder de rol van fotografie en werken op papier. Centraal in de monografie staat een overzichtelijke chronologie over het leven en werk van de kunstenaar. Naast deze uitvoerige teksten schrijven een aantal internatinale kunstenaars een kort statement over Raoul De Keyser. De publicatie wordt vormgegeven door Inge Ketelers, die in het verleden reeds meerdere keren met de kunstenaar heeft samengewerkt.‎
