‎Peinture sur vélin à la gouache et a l’or signé « G Prodocimi dip » d’une très fine inscription sur le dallage. Cette œuvre du peintre miniaturiste G Prosdocimi reprend l’une des peintures du Bréviaire Grimani , l’un des plus célèbres manuscrits de la renaissance flamande, de nos jours conservé à Venise, bibliothèque Marciana (MS lat. 1,99) D’origine vénitienne Germano Prosdocimi s’est employé dès les années 1850 à peindre les illustrations du bréviaire Grimani, l’un des sommets de la peinture flamande de la renaissance. Son sens de la minutie et de la couleur (il était miniaturiste de formation) lui permirent d’acquérir un niveau d’excellence proche de la perfection dont cette peinture est un bon exemple. Germano Prosdocimi, était en contact avec les éditeurs, Fermin Didot et Léon Curmer, probablement travailla-t-il pour eux, en réponse à une demande croissante d’une clientèle en recherche d’œuvres néo-gothiques. À la différence de son contemporain faussaire dit « le Spanish Forger », Germano Prosdocimi est un artiste à part entière qui signe ses œuvres, et bénéficie d’une reconnaissance officielle. C’est ainsi qu’il réalise, Pour les maisons de Habsbourg et Démidoff une série de gouaches, d’une minutie obsessionnelle qui se trouvent à l’heure actuelle au Paul Getty Museum. Les œuvres de Germano Prosdocimi sont à différencier de celles de son fils Alamo, peintre et illustrateur. Elles se caractérisent par une onctuosité de trait et d’éclatants coloris. Les œuvres de Germano Prosdocimi n’apparaissent que rarement sur le marché. Le Psautier Grimani est considéré comme l’une des œuvres principale des enlumineurs Alexandre Bening, accompagné de Gérard David, du maitre de Jean IV d’Ecosse. La première reproduction du manuscrit fut entreprise en 1862 par le photographe Antonio Fortunato Perrini, soit à peu près aux même époques que les productions de Germano Prosdocimi. Signe d’un intérêt croissant de l’édition et du public, envers les trésors de l’enluminure médiévale. La peinture représente Sainte Catherine au milieu des Docteurs. Les très nombreuses et mystérieuses inscriptions relevées sur les bâtiments, les vêtement des personnages ont longtemps posé problème aux historiens de l’art , certain pensant y lire des signatures ou messages des peintres, mais de nos jours ces pistes ont été progressivement abandonnées. Le soin apporté au traitement des visages, au drapé, au camaïeux d’or, impressionne par sa maitrise et sa fraicheur. Ce qui explique qu’en son temps les œuvres de Germano Prosdocimi, étaient reçu, tel les aquarelles de Redouté, avec enthousiasme par les amateurs. Rappelons que Germano Prosdocimi fut appelé auprès de la cours de Hatbourg pour rendre compte jusque dans le moindre détail du faste des maisons princières. ‎

Water Projects, edited by Germano Celant in collaboration with con CVJ Corporation, is the title of the catalogue (published in English and Italian) released on the occasion of the exhibition by the same title, opening in Brescia at the Santa Giulia Museum, April 7, 2016. The catalogue will include Christo and Jeanne-Claude?s realized and not realized large-scale projects from 1961 to 2016. Besides the famous wrapped monuments, from the Kunsthalle in Bern (1967-1968) to the Reichstag in Berlin (1971-1995), the publication also includes the barriers made with barrels or with fabric, from Wall of Oil Barrells - The Iron Curtain in Paris (1961-62) to Valley Curtain in Rifle, Colorado (1960-62), the great inflatable objects, from 42,390 Cubic Feet Package of Minneapolis (1966) to 5600 Cubicmeter Package, Project for documenta IV in Kassel (1967- 1968), and the fabric pathways, such as Wrapped Walk Ways in Kansas City (1977-1978), or doors, such as The Gates in New York (1979-2005). The seven Water Projects ? Christo and Jeanne-Claude?s installations sharing a connection with water ? are considered in further depth. In these projects, from Running Fence, Sonoma and Marin Counties, California (1972-1976) to Over the River, project for the Arkansas River, State of Colorado (dal 1992), the artists worked establishing a close connection with natural, suburban and urban landscapes which all share a relation with water, be it an ocean, a sea, a lake or a river. Among the Water Projects we must mention The Floating Piers, an installation opening June18 to July 3, 2016, which will allow visitors to walk across Lake Iseo and along its shores on a 3-kilometre route. By means of modular floating piers covered in shimmering yellow fabric, the installation will link the town of Sulzano on the lake?s shores, to Monte Isola, also reaching the Island of San Paolo. Every work included in the catalogue will be accompanied by an explanatory text with all the relevant technical and historical information, along with preparatory drawings, collages, scale models, and photographic documentation of the project?s phases of ideation, preparation and realization.
