A funeral was obviously a very complicated and strictly regulated business in the 17th c. Roman Catholic Netherlands. The document ends with a new regulation ( 12 pp !) stipulating at least 5 classes of funerals. A 1st class funeral involves the payment of 45 ( ! ) different invoices for 45 different funeral activities.
