Bound in a later half cloth binding, pp.3/4 loose, title page with some thumbing. With the printed ex-libris of the Mechelen printer Willy Godenne. Rare court judgement of a lawsuit between the municipal authorities of Mechelen and the Roman Catholic church on the procedures and costs of funerals. A funeral was obviously a very complicated and strictly regulated business in the 17th c. Roman Catholic Netherlands. The document ends with a new regulation ( 12 pp !) stipulating at least 5 classes of funerals. A 1st class funeral involves the payment of 45 ( ! ) different invoices for 45 different funeral activities.‎
