Otto Binswanger (1852-1929), neuropatologo e psichiatra svizzero. Dapprima assistente del Ponfick e del Westphal, fu dal 1882 al 1921 professore di psichiatria nell'università di Jena. Dedicò la sua vita allo studio della paralisi progressiva, della neurastenia, dell'isteria e dell'epilessia e fu psichiatra di fiducia del celebre Friederich Nietzsche. ‎First printing of the paper in which Blondel describes his invention of the electromagnetic oscillograph, a device that allowed electrical researchers to observe the intensity of alternating currents.The bifilar and soft iron oscillographs won the grand prize at the St. Louis Exposition in 1904. They were more powerful than the classical stroboscope, invented in 1891 then in use. They remained the best way to record high-speed electrical phenomena for more than 40 years when they were replaced by the cathode ray oscilloscope. They paved the way for a greater understanding of the behavior of alternating current.‎

Antonio Meloni.<br> Cfr. Blake, p. 51 - Biographie Médicale,II, p. 290: Jacques-Auguste Blondel (1666-1734), anglais de naissance, mais français d'origine, fut agrégé au Collège des médecins de Londres.. Il publia ce livre (The strength of the imagination of pregnant women examined... London, 1727) sans y mettre son nom. Il y démontre que l'imagination de la mère ne peut exercer aucune influence sur l'enfant, puisque celui-ci jouit de la vie en propre, et qu'il ne tient à elle que par des vaisseaux très déliés par rapport aux deux corps.<br>Con una lunga dedica autografa dell'Ab.
