‎Le peintre d'origine tournaisienne, Rogier van der Weyden ou Rogier de le Pasture, v. 1399-1464, peintre en titre de la ville de Bruxelles depuis 1435, a suscite de nombreuses interrogations. Des documents sur sa vie laissent planer quelque ambiguite, son oeuvre a ete difficile a determiner. La presente etude est d'abord concue comme le complement d'un ouvrage (Rogier van der Weyden, Rogier de le Pasture, Gallimard, Paris 1999) dont le principe n'autorisait pas le developpement d'un apparat critique mais qui apporte, par contre, une large illustration. Elle presente les arguments d'une interpretation de la vie et de l'oeuvre de l'artiste, mais reunit aussi toute la documentation permettant d'en analyser les fondements comme d'elaborer toute autre solution aux problemes qui se posent. Elle peut etre utile a tout amateur, comme a tout historien ou historien d'art, soucieux d'approfondir la connaissance de ce grand maitre de la peinture dite flamande du XVe siecle. Nouveau livre. ‎

A child during West Germany?s Wirtschaftswunder, the economic miracle of the 1950s and 1960s, and a young adult during the economic recession and political tumult of the 1970s, Kippenberger belonged to the first truly postwar generation. But, largely uninterested in the legacy of National Socialism that had occupied his predecessors, Kippenberger instead pursued a hyperproductive artistic practice that reflected the dreams and fears of the ascendent 1980s West German middle class.
