Le livre est accompagné d'une suite complète d'illustrations en couleurs et d'une seconde suite en noir et blanc. Cela devrait également être accompagné d'une aquarelle originale - mais celle-ci n'est pas présente. Etui orange/rouge, avec un peu de frottement mais pas de gros dégâts. Chemise en faux vélin crème contenant le livre à couverture souple et 2 suites. La couverture du livre est recouverte de glassine. Il y a un petit trou dans la glassine (probablement là où un autocollant a été retiré). Sinon impeccable. Le texte lui-même est lâche dans les fronces, avec les illustrations en couleur de Dratz partout. 243 [iii], p. 270 par 235 mm‎

‎Beautiful copy of this numbered limited comic approach to the French Penal Code. This is one of only 50 copies which are on papier annam de Rives. The book comes with a full suite of the illustrations in colour, and a second suite in black and white. This should also come with an original watercolour - but this is not present. Orange / red slipcase, with a little rubbing but no major damage. cream faux vellum folder containing the soft covered book and 2 suites. The wrapper of the book is covered in glassine. There is a small hole in the glassine (presumably where a sticker has been removed). Otherwise immaculate. The text itself is loose in gathers, with Dratz's colour illustrations throughout. 243 [iii], pp. 270 by 235mm (10Ÿ by 9Œ inches).‎

Completed in a neat cursive script, entirely in Latin. The binding has chips with considerable loss to the spine. However the boards are firm and holding. Internally clean and tidy throughout, with minimal darkening to the pages. Still perfectly legible. 190 by 120mm (7œ by 4Ÿ inches).‎

‎Delightful album in the form of a small cloth covered box. Inside a folded decorative inner envelope, containing a selection of original artwork and keepsakes. In total there are 21 original miniature artworks. Comprising: one double size folded original pencil drawing with tissue guard, and eight other lovely pencil drawings. Also six colour original watercolours - all but one of exquisite flowers. One sepia scene of two hunters. And two watercolours done on rice paper. Also two delightful examples of cross stitch and one decoupage, all in flower designs. There is also one pinprick flower design, which is very intricate and skillfully done. There are three handwritten ink notes inside - all in Dutch. One of the notes signed C. Gleichman, talks approximately: "when you are in Haarlem, you will certainly get other girlfriends, but I hope that you will not forget the Rotterdamische". The other two notes are signed J. Doeleman (Jacobus Doeleman) sent to to his pupil Cornelia (presumably Cornelia Gleichman) from Haarlem. All pages have edges in gilt. Most of the art is dated with personal messages and signatures. 90 x 155 mm (3œ x 6 inches). .‎

To the final page is an old - possibly contemporary - owner's name. Collation: g-gviii, a-rrrr3. Pagination: [16], 1-1366 pp. A nice copy. 175 x 105 mm (7 x 4Œ inches).‎

Les coins ont été restaurés et le dos a été recouvert d'un papier similaire. Une bande de tissu a été posée sur le dos. La reliure est donc solide. Les couvertures sont un peu plus sombres, mais restent présentables. Les couvertures intérieures (avant et arrière) ont été imprimées avec la clé de rimes de l'ouvrage, les 8 feuilles sont recouvertes de tissu (donne l'impression d'être recouvertes de papier peint) et les pages sont donc imprimées au recto ou au verso seulement. Chaque page est chromo-lithographiée avec les illustrations des lettres de l'alphabet. Celles-ci sont un peu assombries, mais en bon état. 240 x 190 mm‎

As a result, the binding is firm. A little darkening to the covers, but still presentable. The inside covers (front and rear) have been printed with the rhyming key to the work, the 8 leaves are cloth backed (gives the impression of being backed with wallpaper) and so the pages are printed to either recto or verso only. Each page is chromo-lithographed with the illustrations of the letters of the alphabet. These are a little darkened, but in sound condition. 240 x 190 mm .‎

‎Lovely original watercolour painting of the view across the River Swale in North Yorkshire, from Richmond Castle Hill - with a couple in the foreground. The painting is signed, but we cannot agree and the signature. At some point a previous owner was told it was a painting of the river at Richmond Castle, and assumed it was Richmond in Surrey, when in fact Richmond Castle is in Richmond in Yorkshire, and looks over the River Swale, not the Thames! Tipped on to white card, corners cut to resemble being in an album. Watercolour measures: 205 x 350 mm (8 x 13Ÿ inches). Whole on backing: 400 x 495 mm‎

‎France n/a 1900 Magnifique portfolio de manuscrits architecturaux français sur 'Perspective'. Cela semble être le manuscrit d'un étudiant et des croquis d'un cours d'architecture ou d'art. Tous les contenus traitent de la perspective sous différentes formes. Certains sont purement mathématiques (comme la conception et les croquis de cônes et d'autres formes.) D'autres sont des exemples de croquis dessinés dans une perspective appropriée. Le portefeuille contient un grand nombre de feuilles volantes. Chaque aspect (texte en français) est suivi d'une ou plusieurs illustrations. De nombreuses pages (mais pas toutes) ont des numéros au crayon sur le bord supérieur. Le dossier présente des fissures sur le bord de la colonne vertébrale et est assombri, et au moins une des attaches fonctionne toujours. ‎Wonderful French architectural manuscript portfolio on 'Perspective'. This appears to be a student's own manuscript and sketches from an architectural or art course. All of the contents are dealing with perspective in different forms. Some are purely mathematical (such as the design and sketches of cones and other shapes.) Others are examples of sketches drawn in proper perspective. The portfolio contains a large number of loose leaves. Each aspect (text in French) has one or more illustrations following. Many (but not all) of the pages have pencilled numbers to the top edge. In total there are 48 pages of text and 64 pages of illustrations / diagrams. In fact, there are a few more, but we have only counted "significant" pages. The paper is a little darkened, and there are a few very minor closed tears to the page edge. The folder has cracking to the spine edge, and is darkened, and at least one of the ties is still functioning. The front has a tipped on printed illustration with the title. An attractive and fascinating piece. 330 x 255 mm (13 x 10 inches).‎

Emanuel van Meteren or Meteeren was a Flemish historian and consul for 'the Traders of the Low Countries' in London. His work was important in establishing the innocence of Anne Boleyn. Clean and tidy print. Nice impresson. Lightly attached to a modern backing card. 290 x 190 mm (11œ x 7œ inches).‎
