‎C'est l'extraordinaire épopée des S.A.S. français lors de la Dernière Guerre mondiale que conte l'auteur (lui-même combattant dans le 3e SAS). Celle de ces hommes qui avaient réfusé la sécurité, choisi la lutte, la souffrance et souvent la mort. Ils se voulaient vengeurs et libérateurs. Ils le furent en poursuivant l'ennemi jusqu'en Allemagne. C'étaient d'abord des hommes de foi et de courage. Un livre serein sur une période troublée de notre histoire durant laquelle, lors de la libération du territoire, les soldats se préoccupent de chasser l'Allemand plutôt que de mettre en place un système politique.‎
