Exemplaire de Francis Poulenc comportant un envoi autographe signé sur le justificatif de tirage de chaque volume : " A Francis grâce à qui je suis poète Louise" "A mon Francis que j'aime et que j'admire de tout mon coeur. Son amie Louise" 60 tirages argentiques de Victor Grandpierre montés sur bristol, sortes d'arrangements surréalistes d'objets du quotidien, illustrant chacun un poème de Louise de Vilmorin imprimé en facsimilé. De la rencontre entre Francis Poulenc et Louise de Vilmorin, au milieu des années trente dansle salon de la comtesse de Polignac, naquit une amitié forte teintée d'admiration réciproque. Poulenc mis par la suite en musique plusieurs poèmes de celle qu'il considérait comme l'égale dePaul Éluard et de Max Jacob :Fiançailles pour rire (1939) , Métamorphoses (1943), Trois poèmes de Louise de Vilmorin (1938). "Peu d'êtres m'émeuvent autant que Louise de Vilmorin : parce qu'elle est belle, parce qu'elle boite, parce qu'elle écrit un français d'une pureté innée, parce que son nom évoque des fleurs et des légumes, parce qu'elle aime d'amour ses frères et fraternellement ses amants."
