‎Bel ensemble de photographies originales représentant des rues et monuments de Saïgon et de Hanoï et de leur population. Non signées, ces clichés sont attribuables, daprès nos recherches, aux premiers photographes européens établis à Hanoï, parmi lesquels : Aurélien Pestel 1855-1897, Pierre Dieulefils (1862-1937), François-Henri Schneider (1851-1921), ou encore Raphaël Moreau. La plupart des photos sont légendées dans le négatif ou au crayon dans la marge, dont : Pour Hanoï : Boutique de marchand de pipes, entrée de la pagode des lettrés, entrée de la pagode du Grand Bouddha, intérieur de la pagode du Grand Bouddha, le Grand Bouddha, rue Paul Bert, débarcadère des Messageries Fluviales, rue du coton, rue des brodeurs, entrée du temple du Mont de Jade, lac Hoan Kiem centrée sur la tour de la tortue laquelle est surmontée d'une réplique de la Statue de la Liberté de Bartholdi, le petit lac et le Pagodon. Et pour Saïgon : quai du commerce, jardin botanique, pagode des Sept Congrégations, tombeau annamite, charrette annamite, ou encore arroyo de Cau-Kho, lArrigo chinois et le Do-Na Ces photographies sont légèrement jaunies et en bel de conservation. 18 original photographs printed on albumen paper, 225 x 155 mm. Mounted on cardboard (295 x 230 mm). A beautiful collection of original photographs depicting the streets and monuments of Saigon and Hanoi and their inhabitants. Although unsigned, our research indicates that these photographs can be attributed to the first European photographers to settle in Hanoi, including Aurélien Pestel (1855-1897), Pierre Dieulefils (1862-1937), François-Henri Schneider (1851-1921), and Raphaël Moreau. Most of the photos are captioned on the negative or in pencil in the margin, including: For Hanoi: Pipe shop, entrance to the Pagoda of the Scholars, entrance to the Great Buddha Pagoda, interior of the Great Buddha Pagoda, the Great Buddha, Paul Bert Street, River Mail landing stage, Cotton Street, Embroiderers' Street, entrance to the Jade Mountain Temple, Hoan Kiem Lake centered on the Turtle Tower, which is topped by a replica of Bartholdi's Statue of Liberty, the small lake, and the Pagodon. And for Saigon: the commercial quay, the botanical garden, the Pagoda of the Seven Congregations, the Annamite tomb, the Annamite cart, or even the Cau-Kho arroyo, the Chinese Arrigo and the Do-Na These photographs are slightly yellowed and in good condition.‎
