‎Magnifique album de photographies d'un séjour en Algérie, en Tunisie et en Égypte de 1899 à 1901. Dauteur inconnu, trois hommes font néanmoins lobjet des premiers clichés tandis quils embarquent à destination dAlger. Les photographies de petits formats sont contrecollées de 3 à 6 par page. Elles sont majoritairement au format paysage et certaines forment de sublimes panoramas en une seule prise ou par un assemblage. La qualité des compositions témoigne clairement dun il photographique. Les sujets sont très variés et dépeignent fidèlement lAfrique du nord avec ses habitants, ses scènes de vie, ses paysages naturels, son architecture et ses sites historiques remarquables. La première partie est consacrée à lAlgérie où lauteur a séjourné à partir davril 1899 tandis que la seconde dépeint lÉgypte de décembre 1900 à janvier 1901. Chacune est introduite par un titre à pleine page joliment calligraphié à lencre noire. Certains clichés de la partie sur lÉgypte sont titrés et celle-ci débute par un départ des trois hommes de Messine pour Le Caire. Magnificent album of photographs from a trip to Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt from 1899 to 1901. Although the author is unknown, three men are nevertheless the subject of the first photographs as they embark for Algiers. The small-format photographs are mounted 3 to 6 per page. Most are in landscape format, and some form sublime panoramas in a single shot or by assembly. The quality of the compositions clearly demonstrates a photographic eye. The subjects are very varied and faithfully depict North Africa with its inhabitants, scenes of daily life, natural landscapes, architecture, and remarkable historical sites. The first part is devoted to Algeria, where the author stayed from April 1899, while the second depicts Egypt from December 1900 to January 1901. Each section is introduced by a full-page title beautifully calligraphied in black ink. Some of the photographs in the section on Egypt are captioned, and it begins with the departure of the three men from Messina for Cairo.
