Exemplaire bien complet de la grande carte générale du Brabant, reliée au début, due à Janssonius-Waesbergen. Y sont indiqués les châteaux et chefs-lieux, monastères et cloîtres historiques du Brabant. Tres bel exemplaire, à grandes marges, conservé dans son velin dorigine. Le baron Jacques Le Roy (1633-1719) était un géographe et historien belge spécialiste du duché de Brabant et avec une passion particuliere pour l'aménagement des jardins et du paysage, comme en témoignent les superbes planches de son ouvrage. 4 parts bound in 1 folio vol. Third edition of this magnificent work by Jacques Le Roy, illustrated with sumptuous views of the castles, abbeys and towns of the Belgian province of Brabant, together engraved by G. Bouttats, H. Cause, J. Harrewijn, J. Meyssens, L. Vorsterman, R. Whitehand, and others, after F. Bauduin, W. Hollar, J. van Croes and J. van Werden. Very complete copy of the large general map of Brabant, bound at the beginning, due to Janssonius-Waesbergen. The castles and capitals, monasteries and historic cloisters of Brabant are indicated there. Very beautiful copy, with large margins, preserved in its original vellum. Baron Jacques Le Roy (1633-1719) was a Belgian geographer and historian specializing in the Duchy of Brabant and with a particular passion for garden and landscape design, as evidenced by the superb plates in his work.‎
