Mark Dedrie maakt het zich in onze bliksemsnelle kunstwereld niet gemakkelijk. Wars van kortstondige modes arbeidt hij procesmatig, en met steile ambachtelijkheid, aan het beeld zoals zijn geestesoog het idealiter ziet. Gedetailleerde beeldhouwerstekeningen hoeft men in Dedries laden niet te gaan zoeken. Voor hem is een beeld een beeld, geen ruimtelijk opgevulde tekening. Dedrie droomt en ziet het beeld mentaal. Telkens weer bouwt hij het traag en onherhaalbaar op. Hij monteert het, giet het in brons, schuurt en streelt het haast eindeloos ? tot dat Ene beeld met die vergeestelijkte patinastraling. Want betekenis en gestalte moeten elkaar volledig doordringen tot ze een volstrekt homogene eenheid vormen. Drietalige uitgave Nl/Fr/Eng. In goede staat. Mark Dedrie does not make it easy in our lightning fast art world. Averse to ephemeral fashions, he works process-wise and with a steep craftsmanship on the image as his mind's eye ideally sees it. It is not necessary to look for detailed sculptor's drawings in Dedries laden. For him, an image is an image, not a spatially filled drawing. Dedrie dreams and sees the image mentally. Again and again he builds it up slowly and unrepeatably. He assembles it, casts it in bronze, sands and caresses it almost endlessly? to that One image with that spiritualized patina radiation.
