Telkens weer bouwt hij het traag en onherhaalbaar op. Hij monteert het, giet het in brons, schuurt en streelt het haast eindeloos ? tot dat Ene beeld met die vergeestelijkte patinastraling. Mark Dedrie does not make it easy in our lightning fast art world. Averse to ephemeral fashions, he works process-wise and with a steep craftsmanship on the image as his mind's eye ideally sees it. It is not necessary to look for detailed sculptor's drawings in Dedries laden. For him, an image is an image, not a spatially filled drawing. Dedrie dreams and sees the image mentally. Again and again he builds it up slowly and unrepeatably. He assembles it, casts it in bronze, sands and caresses it almost endlessly? to that One image with that spiritualized patina radiation.
