Importante étude d'urbanisme qui présente une analyse historique mise en parallèle avec des projets de mobilier urbain proposés par le studio G.K. Design et présentés en situation à travers de nombreuses photographies, photomontages et diagrammes.Publié à l’occasion de l’exposition d'Osaka en 1970, dont le thème «Progrès et Harmonie pour l’Homme» était une approche critique des conséquences de l’idéologie technocratique issue des progrès de la science et de la puissance des grandes industries. Une variante du mobilier urbain présenté dans ce livre a été réalisée à l’Expo ’70 Osaka (cf. Project Japan, Koolhaas+Obrist 2011, p.488).Kenji Ekuan était un des membres du groupe Métabolisme et le fondateur de GK Industrial Design, studio spécialisé dans la conception globale du design urbain, de l'échangeur autoroutier à la boîte à lettres. Il a notamment conçu en 1961 une bouteille de sauce de soja pour la firme Kikkoman, toujours utilisée aujourd'hui.(103852)
