Very rare first edition with one xylographic view in frontispiece. Travel correspondance written during the years 1869 to 1876, posthumously edited by the author's sister: letters relating excursions in the mountains and poems inspired by the mountains, written during various tours nearly all over Switzerland and in the mountains around Chamounix, done together with some of her family members, as well as contributions written for magazines.The editor, Jane Miriam Crane, was the author"s sister. This book contains "delightful descriptions of her excursions". Perret mentions a first edition of 1882 with 12 plates, which is clearly the second ‘enlarged’ edition.
