...Un volume in-12, très épais (14,5 x 22 x 9,5 cm), avec une reliure moderne toilée couleur bleu-clair, avec pièce de titre sur le dos, réunissant les 3 tome. Le tome I compte 466 pages, le tome 2, 401 pages, le tome 3, 436 pages, ce qui fait en tout 1303 pages , d’où l’épaisseur de notre exemplaire. PLINE LE Jeune est né en 62 ou 63 après J.C. et il meurt en 113. Non seulement ses lettres sont un témoignage unique sur la société dirigeante sous les Principats de NERVA et TRAJAN. mais encore , à partir du moment où l’Empereur l’a envoyé en Pont-Bithynie , ses lettres sont des documents sur l’administration romaine provinciale de première main. Quoi qu’il en soit ces Lettres sont considérées unanimement comme une sorte de chef d’oeuvre. La présentation des éditions Panckouck permet en tout cas , par le procédé de l’impression justaposée Latin -Français d’apprécier au mieux ses qualités. Malgré quelques rousseurs dispersées ça et là, notre exemplaire peut être dit En TRES BON ETAT.
