Edizione del 1692 di questa opera letteraria della scrittrice francese Madeleine de Scudery (1607-1701), una delle massime esponenti del preziosismo. Molti dei suoi scritti vennero pubblicati in forma anonima o a nome del fratello Georges de Scudery che non esitò a prendersene la paternità. Celebre fu il suo salotto assiduamente frequentato da personaggi come Montausier, La Rochefoucauld, Madame de la Fayette, Madame de Sevignè, Conrart, Chapelain , Pomponne e Pellisson. L'opera, pubblicata per la prima volta nel 1688 contiene diversi scritti dell'autrice che spaziano tra soggetti morali e letterari inframezzati da componimenti poetici.
