[2] Printed by Visscher; ''Tome Deux - Troisième Partie , iv pp + 144 pp ; Troisième partie (Tome ii , Chapitre XI) 60pp. Sewn, blind wrapper. olumes are uncut, sometimes unopened and with some foxing and dog ears. The first volume [1] bears an oval stamp with the intials ''VDS'' on the verso side of the half title. The second volume [2] is signed in ink by the author '' Ferdn. vanderStraeten ''. The author Charles V. was editor of the Brussels' journal '' Le Belge''. This publication on the socio-economical development of the newly formed Netherlands was seized by the authorities and the author received a one year prison sentence.The third part of the ''Tome II'' pp.144 ; pp 1-60 ; pp 61 - 140 is exceedingly rare."

Bruxelles, A. Wahlen, 1819, in-8°, (4) + iv + 359 + (1)(blank) + 114 pp, sewn, orig. blue blind wrappers, uncut, as issued (first and last leaves a little dogeared, margins a little frayed). This publication was confiscated and the author had to serve one year in prison. (see De Le Court n°404.) (19th century Belgian history).
