Single leaf (sig. G4), 200 × 130 mm, printed in textura with full metalcut borders. Text from the Office of the Dead, Matins: the end of Psalm 7, with the versicles and Lessons i-iii from Job (Parce michi domine, Tedet animam meam, Manus tue domine fecerunt me) and their responsories. The recto has a candelabra border with putto and a captioned sequence from the Destruction of Jerusalem: Vespasian's siege of Jotapata and the sparing of Josephus ('Jaffet'), with two French captions. The two roundels are washed in blue and red. The verso is entirely hand-coloured and illuminated in body colour and gold. It has a gold architectural headpiece, an outer border of putti and grotesques in acanthus, a column of three figure cuts including (apparently) St Luke with his ox, and three cuts from the Story of Joseph in the lower margin. Initials throughout in burnished gold on blue and pink grounds. Small tear and loss at the fore-edge of the recto (inner margin of the verso), affecting the large side cut on the recto and the central column cut on the verso, with some loss of colour. Signature partly shaved. A rare survival: one side was left essentially uncoloured while the other was fully painted, so the leaf shows the metalcuts both as printed and as finished.
