‎Metz S.P. 1929 Première édition. Manuscrit dactylographié d'un poème inédit évoquant les batailles de la Première Guerre mondiale. L'auteur s'entretient avec sainte Barbe (Barbara), patronne des artilleurs. Le poème évoque à la fois l'horreur de la guerre et les batailles de la Marne, de l'Yser (Ypres) et de Verdun. Sainte Barbe encourage les soldats français à défendre Metz. Nous n'avons trouvé aucune publication de ce poème et n'avons pas pu identifier son auteur. Manuscrit dactylographié. 9 pages. Format A4. 32 cm x 21 cm. Sainte Barbe est vénérée par les catholiques exposés au risque d'une mort soudaine et violente au travail. On l'invoque contre le tonnerre et la foudre, ainsi que contre tous les accidents liés aux explosions de poudre à canon. Couverture souple verte sans décor. Elle est propre, mais présente une décoloration sur les bords et le dos. Légères traces d'usure sur les bords. Le manuscrit dactylographié est propre et soigné, sur un papier quelque peu jauni.‎

‎First edition. A typescript of an unrecorded poem remembering the battles of the first world war. The author is having a conversation with Saint Barbe (Barbara) who is the patron saint of artillery men. The poem speaks both of the horror of war, and remembers the battles of the Marne, l'Yser (Ypres) and Verdun. Saint Barbe urges the French soldiers on in the defence of Metz. We have been unable to find any publication of this poem, and have been unable to identify the author. Typescript. 9 pages. A4. 32cm x 21cm. Saint Barbara is venerated by Catholics who face the danger of sudden and violent death at work. She is invoked against thunder and lightning and all accidents arising from explosions of gunpowder. Green undecorated soft covers. These are clean, but with fading to the edges and spine. Slight edgewear. The typescript is clean and tidy on somewhat darkened paper. .‎
