‎LE MAIR, H. Willebook‎
‎Grannie's Little Rhyme Book & Auntie's Little Rhyme Book ‎

Contient Pussy cat, pussy cat ; Sing a song of Sixpence ; Dickory, dickory dock ; Lazy sheep ; Little Jack Horner ; Little Bo-Peep ; The north wind doth blow ; Little Tom Tucker ; Baa, baa, black sheep ; Little Miss Muffett ; Little jumping Joan ; Sleep, baby, sleep. Intérieur propre et soigné. Bel exemplaire. 2) Le livre de ma tante : vers 1914. Non paginé, mais 28 pages. Contient Oranges and lemons ; Simple Simon ; I saw three ships a-sailing ; Jack and Jill ; Little Boy Blue ; Dance to your daddy ; Pat-a-cake ; Derry, down derry ; Lavender blue ; Lucy Locket ; Gorgy Porgy ; Twinkle, twinkle, little star. Les pages de garde sont noircies et il y a une légère tache dans le coin de la dernière page, mais sinon, l'ouvrage est propre et bien rangé. Ensemble, ces deux livres illustrés pour enfants forment un joli duo dans un style Art déco ravissant. 11,5 cm x 15,5 cm.‎

‎First edition (or early edition). Two lovely illustrated children's books by H. WIllebeek Le Mair. These are number 1 and 3 in the "Old nursery Rhymes" series. Based on the adverts to the rear, these would appear to be first editions, and are certainly before 1915. Illustrated paper covered boards. A little rubbing to the boards, but still quite presentable. 1) Grannie's book: 1913. Unpaginated but 28 pages. Contains Pussy cat, pussy cat; Sing a song of Sixpence; Dickory, dickory dock; Lazy sheep; Little Jack Horner; Little Bo-Peep; The north wind doth blow; Little Tom Tucker; Baa, baa, black sheep; Little Miss Muffett; Little jumping Joan; Sleep, baby, sleep. Internally clean and tidy. A nice copy. 2) Auntie's book: C1914. Unpaginated by 28 pages. Contains Oranges and lemons; Simple Simon; I saw three ships a-sailing; Jack and Jill; Little Boy Blue; Dance to your daddy; Pat-a-cake; Derry, down derry; Lavender blue; Lucy Locket; Gorgy Porgy; Twinkle, twinkle, little star. End papers are darkened and a light stain to the corner of the final page, otherwise clean and tidy.
