‎Paris Lemaine & Fils 1870 Première édition. Grande affiche satirique représentant l'empereur Guillaume II et Napoléon III au début de la guerre franco-prussienne. 50 cm x 32,5 cm. Les bords de l'affiche présentent d'importantes déchirures et plis. Les plus importants ont été réparés à l'aide de ruban adhésif d'archivage. Légère décoloration. Néanmoins, l'affiche est dans l'ensemble en bon état et peut être encadrée. Conforme à Paris Musées / Carnavalet Réf. : QB.954. Alexandre Baylac était un caricaturiste et lithographe français du XIXe siècle actif à Paris, connu pour ses uvres satiriques sur la guerre franco-prussienne de 1870-1871 et la Commune qui suivit. L'une de ses uvres les plus satiriques était « Les Criminels Célèbres ! ».‎

The edges of the poster have significant closed tears and creases. The worst of these have been repaired with archival tape. A little darkening.
