Légères rousseurs sur la couverture avant. Petite fente sur le bord supérieur du dos. 29 lithographies à mi-page de Picasso imprimées par Mourlot illustrant un poème de Paul Éluard situé en dessous. Le papier est du vélin Offset Supérieur. Les pages sont propres et brillantes, avec seulement quelques petits assombrissements. Un très bel exemplaire. 29,5 cm x 22,5 cm. Paul Éluard et Pablo Picasso se sont rencontrés dans les années 1920, au cur du mouvement surréaliste, mais leur collaboration artistique a pris une dimension plus engagée à partir des années 1930. Leur amitié s'est notamment consolidée pendant la guerre civile espagnole et après la tragédie de Guernica, événements qui ont cimenté leur lutte contre le fascisme, leur quête de liberté et de paix et une opposition aux horreurs de la guerre. "Le Visage de la Paix" est le fruit ultime de cette collaboration. Publié un an avant la mort d'Éluard, il réunit 29 poèmes du poète et 29 dessins de Picasso sur le thème de la paix.‎

Small area of splitting to the top edge of the spine. 29 half page lithographs by Picasso printed by Mourlot illustrating a poem by Paul Éluard located below. The paper is vélin Offset Supérieur. The pages are clean and bright, with only fractional darkening. A very nice copy. 29.5cm x 22.5cm. Paul Éluard and Pablo Picasso met in the 1920s, at the heart of the surrealist movement, but their artistic collaboration took on a more committed dimension from the 1930s onwards. Their friendship was consolidated in particular during the Spanish Civil War and after the tragedy of Guernica, events which cemented their fight against fascism, their quest for freedom and peace and an opposition to the horrors of war. "Le Visage de la Paix" is the ultimate fruit of this collaboration. Published a year before Éluard's death, it brings together 29 of the poet's poems and 29 of Picasso's drawings on the theme of peace. .‎
