‎Christian Winthers digt fra 1832 med titlen ""Sang paa Fjeldet"" fra Digte - gamle og nye blev snart udbredt med en ""schweizisk folkemelodi"", hvis oprindelse i øvrigt er ukendt, men som i 1896 blev optaget i Danmarks Melodibog. Desuden indgik digtet sammen med tre andre Winther-tekster i Edvard Griegs Fire Romancer opus 10 fra 1866. ‎
