Ce beau roman d'amour, paru en édition originale en 1922, se déroule en Syrie au XIIIe siècle, et relate la passion du jeune chevalier Guillaume, pour Oriante, épouse d'un émir.Superbe édition illustrée par André Suréda (1872-1930) dans un style orientaliste caractéristique de son oeuvre : 17 illustrations or et couleurs dont 16 hors-texte, bandeaux, lettrines et ornements typographiques gravés sur bois par Robert Dill.Tirage à 490 exemplaires. Un des 380 sur vélin d'Arches.Quelques décharges pâles. -------In-4 leaves, illustrated cover, publisher's slipcase and folder. This beautiful romance novel, first published in 1922, is set in 13th-century Syria, and tells the story of the young Knight Guillaume's passion for Oriante, the wife of an emir.Superb edition illustrated by André Suréda (1872-1930) in the orientalist style typical of his work: 17 gold and color illustrations, including 16 hors-texte, woodcuts, lettering and typographical ornaments by Robert Dill.Limited edition of 490 copies.
