Bellissima immagine allegorica che rappresenta la Francia, incisa all'acquaforte da Raphael Sadeler I° (l'Ancien) su disegno di Hans von Aachen, di mm. 203 x 262 (al vivo), sotto passepartout. Fa parte di una serie di 4 incisioni, due di Raphael e due del fratello Johann, raffiguranti le quattro nazioni più potenti d'Europa.Cfr. Hollstein Dutch,XXI, n. 497 - Benezit.XII, p. 167: L'oeuvre gravé de l'artiste flamand Raphael Sadeler l'ancien, est très important. Con aloni marginali, ma buon esemplare.

Galibert ricostruisce la storia algerina dall'antichità sino alla dominazione francese con esaustivi resoconti sulle varie dominazioni che si avvicendarono nel paese nei secoli: romana, vandala, greco-bizantina, araba, turca, francese. L'oepra è composta da due volumi che risultano mancanti di tutte le tavole e delle seguenti pagine: nel primo tomo dalla 433 alla 480, nel secondo tomo dalla 425 alla 440 e dalla 552 alla 576. In buone condizioni. Copertina novecentesca in piena tela con titolo in oro al dorso in ottime condizioni generali con lievi usure ai margini e dorso. Legatura in buone condizioni. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con rare fioriture. Rosicchiatura di topo al margine di piegatura da pag. 33 a 64, all'angolo inferiore destro da pag. 417 a 432, al margien destro da pag. 329 a 344, al margine inferiore da pag. 577 a 584 con gore senza perdita di testo. Bruciatura all'angolo superiore destro di pag. 441 e 443. MAncano le pagine del primo tomo da 433 a 480, nel secondo tomo da pag. 425 a 440, da 552 a 576. The work is amde up of two volumes missing of all planches and the following planches: in the first tome from 433 until 480, in the second tome from 425 until 440 and from 552 until 576.<BR>In good conditions. Full cloth cover of the XX century with golden title in the spine in very good general conditions slightly worn in the edges and spine. Binding in good conditions. Inside pages are in good conditions with occasional foxings. Sign of mous in the folding edge from pag. 33 until 64, in the lower right corner from pag. 417 until 432, in the right edge from pag. 329 until 344, in the lower edge from pag. 577 until 584 with humidity stains with no loss of text.
