257 pp.Aucun exemplaire au CCF.Très rare état des troupes engagées à la fois du côté espagnol et du côté français, dans la lutte au cours de la Guerre de l'Indépendance (1808-1814). Il est composé d'une suite 149 tableaux disposés chronologiquement, depuis l'état des troupes régulières en 1808, avant l'intervention française, jusqu'au 10 mars 1814. Quoique de caractère non officiel, il offre une source indispensable à l'historien de la période.

Texte de John DOWNIE, aventurier militaire écossais (1777-1826) qui participa à la guerre d'indépendance espagnole puis fut arrêté lors du complot de 1823; blason gravé en taille-douce en frontispice, légendé "Fortitudine inferrum pro libertate ruimus" .
