This is the very long (271 pages!) introduction of volume 1 with 14 (of 15 plates), of which 4 are beautifully hand-coloured. The 138 pages of descriptions and 52 pages of index and catalogues are missing as are the 43 coloured plates that go with the descriptions.

Of course this was wishful thinking, it took 12 years to finish this work. In all 25 fine hand-coloured plates (depicting: Colydiides, Cucujides, Cryptophagides, Mycetophagides, Mycetoeides, Corlophides, Lathridiides, Dermestides, Byrrhides, Parnides, and some smaller groups).
