1844 40 p., two hand-coloured plates, roy. 4to (32 x 25 cm), later marbled wrappers with printed label pasted on front. A very rare paper on new and little known scorpions with fine illustrations. Some text pages lightly spotted, plates clean. In all a good copy. Nissen ZBI, 1195.

1996 [10], 404 p., hundreds of plates depicting almost 3000 (sub)species, 4to, hardbound (dust jacket). Very good copy of this scarce book, which is now out of print (as is the 2nd supplement).This is quite a unique book as it was printed showing 2500 illustrations of Carabus species, but leaving empty spaces for those species that were not as yet photographed. These could be added by buying the supplements and adding the photographs of the supplements to the empty spaces in the book. In all three supplements were issued and these species are added in this copy of the book. We include a supplement 3 (now empty).
