‎Summary The 'Alawi religion, known for most of its history by the name Nu?ayriyya, emerged in Iraq over a millennium ago. An esoteric, syncretistic religion with a close affinity to Shi'i Islam, its origins are shrouded in obscurity. ‎Bouwbedrijven werden door de Duitse bezetter ingeschakeld bij aanleg, nieuwbouw en herstelwerkzaamheden De brisante oorlogsgeschiedenis van de Nederlandse bouwwereld Bouwen zonder scrupuleslaat zien hoe de Nederlandse bouwwereld zich tijdens de bezetting vrijwillig en op grote schaal heeft laten inschakelen door de Duitsers, zowel in Nederland als daarbuiten. Het betrof niet alleen NSB-aannemers, maar ook grote gevestigde bouwbedrijven. Ondanks de bezetting had de bouwwereld slechts oog voor haar eigen zakelijke en sectorale belangen. Pogingen van zowel Nederlandse als Duitse zijde om tot regulering te komen mislukten door tegenwerking van de brancheorganisatie Federatie Werkgevers Bouwbedrijf en later de Bedrijfsgroep Bouwindustrie. Na de bevrijding werden de woningbouwers alsnog gereguleerd in het kader van de wederopbouw. Het probleem dat veel bouwbedrijven die gecollaboreerd hadden nog over materieel beschikten, terwijl goede bedrijven dat waren kwijtgeraakt door vordering en inbeslagname, werd niet bevredigend opgelost door het belang van de wederopbouw en de trage rechtsgang. Bouwen zonder scrupules is de handelseditie van het gelijknamige proefschrift waarop de auteur dit najaar promoveert.‎
