‎Ce livre accompagne l'exposition monographique consacr e Z phir Busine (Gerpinnes 1916 - Mons 1976) pr sentera son travail de designer et d'artiste d corateur. S'il est surtout connu pour son oeuvre picturale, qualifi e d'abstraction lyrique, il s'est cependant illustr dans bien d'autres domaines de la cr ation. Au lendemain de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la reconstruction a en effet fourni durant les Trente glorieuses un abondant travail aux artistes et artisans en termes de restauration ou de reconstruction d'un patrimoine d vast par les bombardements. Avec d'autres, Z phir Busine eut ainsi l'occasion d' tendre l' ventail de ses talents. Des ann es 1950 aux ann es 1970, il est tour tour illustrateur, c ramiste, sculpteur, vitrailliste et d corateur. Il a eu galement l'opportunit de collaborer avec l'architecte Jacques Dupuis, notamment dans le cadre de l'Expo 58 mais aussi pour des ensembles de mobilier et d'art religieux. En 1957, invit par la manufacture de verre de Boussu soucieuse de renouveler son image, il con oit de nouvelles gammes de produits d'une tonnante modernit et d'une grande puret formelle, dont certains seront distingu s du Signe d'or en 1960 d cern par le Design Centre de Bruxelles. Alors que la collaboration avec Boussu s'arr te en 1970, Z phir Busine explore une nouvelle voie, celle du graphisme, qu'il enseigne l'Acad mie des Beaux-Arts de Mons jusqu' son d c s en 1976.
