‎Timo Sarpaneva was originally trained as a graphic designer and the student assignments from his years at the Central School of Industrial Art (1940 ? 1949) have not been previously published or displayed. Less known works by him also include textile patterns and designs from the 1940s and 1950s. Added to these are paintings and graphic design by Timo Sarpaneva from the same period, 1943 ? 1956. Myös Iittalan lasitehtaalla Sarpanevan keksimä Finlandia-pintalasitekniikka vaikutti suuresti seuraavien vuosien käyttö- ja taidelasin ilmeeseen. Jo Sarpanevan ensi esiintyminen taidemaalarina v. 1949 Helsingin Taidehallin nuortennäyttelyssä oli menestys. ?Sarpaneva on huomioon otettava koloristinen lahjakkuus, jonka hienostunut taidekäsitys antaa suuria lupauksia?, kirjoitti arvostettu taidekriitikko Edward Richter. Toinen sija Riihimäen lasitehtaan julistamassa kansainvälisessä lasinsuunnittelukilpailussa v. 1949, sytytti kiinnostuksen lasiin. ‎Brodwolf ist ein bedeutender deutscher Künstler. Er fertigt hauptsächlich räumliche Arbeiten, in denen ?Röhrenfiguren? und Schatten eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Brodwolf ging 1948 an die Kunstgewerbeschule in Bern, um eine Ausbildung zum Lithografen zu absolvieren. Nach seinem Abschluss im Jahr 1953 blieb er in Paris und erlernte die Malerei autodidaktisch. 1955 erhielt er ein Bundesstipendium für Malerei, ließ sich in Vogelbach im Schwarzwald nieder und arbeitete als Freskenrestaurator und Glasmaler. Mit einem neuen Stipendium konnte er 1968 an der Akademie der Künste in Berlin beginnen. Und 1976 wurde er Professor für Zeichnung an der Fachhochschule für Gestaltung Pforzheim Ab Sommer 1982 wurde er als Nachfolger von Rudolf Hoflehner Professor für Bildhauerei an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. Seit seiner Pensionierung im Jahr 1995 lebt und arbeitet er in Kandern.‎
