‎Der hier in erweitertem Neudruck vorgelegte Text ist erstmals kritisch 1948 von Bohumil Ryba im Prager Verlag Orbis vorgelegt worden. Er schliesst inhaltlich innerhalb der Opera Omnia Magistri Iohannis Hus an den Band 19A (Questiones, ed. Jiri Kejr, CCCM 205) an, da Hus sich hier ebenfalls in seiner Funktion als Universitatsprofessor aussert. Doch hatte die feierliche Quodlibet-Disputation des Jahres 1411 noch eine besondere politische Bedeutung: Sie war die erste nach dem Auszug der deutschen Universitatsangehorigen, und es lag Hus sehr viel daran, nachzuweisen, dass der intellektuelle Standard der Universitat keinen Schaden gelitten habe. Bei der Organisation des Ereignisses zeigt Hus gleichermassen die Qualitaten des Philosophen und Theologen in den Fragestellungen zu Schopfung, Wahrheit, Zeit oder menschlichem Gewissen, wie er sich anderseits als charmanter Rhetoriker erweist, dem nicht nur am prodesse sondern auch am delectare liegt, weshalb er die Diskussionspartner in witziger und schmeichelhafter Weise in Beziehung zu den grossen antiken Philosophen setzt. ‎Symbolae Facultatis Litterarum Lovaniensis - Series B : 06. Op 15 januari 1875 werd het Davidsfonds gesticht, als Vlaamse en katholieke cultuurvereniging. Intussen is het geevolueerd tot een organizatie mte 78 651 leden, gegroepeerd in 596 plaatselijke afdelingen. Als sociaal-cultureel werk streeft het 'de alzijdige ontwikkeling van het Vlaamse volk' na, terwijl het als drukgroep de Vlaamse belangen verdedigt, dit alles vanuit een christelijke inspiratie. Op 10 oktober 1955 besloot het Davidsfonds over te gaan tot de oprichting van een jongerenafdeling, onder de naam Jong-Davidsfonds. Het initiatief hiertoe ging vooral uit van E.H. Marcel Decubber, die in Mere sinds 1952 een dergelijk experiment had opgezet. Dit Jong-Davidsfonds stond een woelige geschiedenis te wachten. Een jaar na de officiele stichting brak een conflict met het episkopaat uit, dat maandenlang zou aanslepen. Toen het Jonge-Davidsfonds op het einde van de jaren zestig in maatschappijkritisch vaarwater terechtgekomen was, kwam het opnieuw in botsing, maar dit keer met de eigen moederorganizatie. Op 16 juni 1973 besloot het Davidsfonds uiteindelijk de jongerenafdeling op te heffen. ‎
