A questi problemi dedicato il presente volume, che, partendo da un'analisi sempre attenta alle evidenze testuali, intende vagliare, da una prospettiva storico-filosofica, la possibilit che Ges e il Cristianesimo delle origini siano stati influenzati dal Cinismo, e da tale tradizione filosofica abbiano ricevuto sollecitazioni o stimoli. Lo studio rivolto a testi quali i Vangeli Sinottici e le Lettere Paoline (nello specifico, la Prima Lettera ai Corinzi), in cui i fautori della Cynic Jesus Hypothesis hanno ritenuto di poter rinvenire elementi definibili come 'cinici'. Tale analisi si presta in maniera singolare a gettare luce non solo su autori importanti e temi della tradizione cinica particolarmente discussi, ma anche sui rapporti tra la tradizione ellenica e le origini del Cristianesimo. Come notato sin dai primi biografi e commentatori, Dante dimostra in svariate occasioni una maestria e una padronanza della materia del tutto degne, per dirla col Boccaccio, di un maraviglioso lo co . Giustamente celebri sono i versi di Inferno XXVII in cui un d'i neri cherubini , con un raffinato ragionamento, strappa l'anima di Guido da Montefeltro all'impotente San Francesco ( forse / tu non pensavi ch'io lo co fossi! , v. 123); ma soprattutto nel Convivio, nella Monarchia e nella controversa Questio de aqua et terra che l'Alighieri sfoggia una competenza difficilmente riducibile alla consultazione occasionale di qualche 'manuale'. Questo studio analizza sistematicamente i passaggi dell'opera dantesca riconducibili a questo specifico ambito disciplinare; e offre una panoramica sugli ambienti culturali in cui il Poeta avrebbe verosimilmente potuto formarsi (Firenze, Bologna, la Toscana occidentale, la marca Trevigiana). Da un lato, quindi, si inserisce nel fortunato filone di studi che si occupato di valutare la conoscenza che Dante pot avere delle dottrine di Aristotele e dei suoi interpreti. Dall'altro, tenta di ricostruire i tempi, i luoghi e i modi in cui, peregrino, quasi mendicando , pot acquisire tale competenza specialistica. Hans virke vakte ikke udelt begejstring hverken hos magthaverne, som anså ham for en fantast, eller hos tilhørerne.‎

‎The scarce first edition of Steffens' groundbreaking introductory lectures that were responsible for introducing German romanticism to Denmark, greatly influencing Danish literature and philosophy for decades to come. Henrik Steffens (1773 – 1845), was a Norwegian philosopher, scientist, and poet. Born in Stavanger, he moved to Copenhagen at the age of 14, with his family. Here, he studied theology and natural science. In 1796, he lectured at the University of Kiel, and in 1798, he went toJena to study the natural philosophy of Friedrich Schelling. In 188, he went to Freiberg, and in 1802 returned to Copenhagen, where he gave his legendary nine lectures at Elers Kollegium. These were published in 1803 as ""Intrduktion til Philosophiske Forelæsninger"" (Introduction to Philosophical Lectures). These lectures were groundbreaking in several regards and brought novel romanticist ideas to Denmark. They werre hugely succesful and came to influence the greatest thinkers of the Danish Golden Age, such as Oehlenschläger and Grundtvig. Friedrich Schleiermacher was so struck by the excellence of the lectures that he endeavoured to obtain for Steffens a chair in the new Berlin University in 1804, in order for his own ethical teachings to be supported in the scientific department. ‎
