He wrote on the title a dedication for young Marcel Durry, 1895 - 1978, a wellknown French latinst. Morillot published on 'les grands écrivains français'. Durry was in 1924 a young scholar. He took his doctoral degree in 1919 at the École Française de Rome (Les Cohortes prétoriennes), where Jérôme Carcopino was one of his teachers. The gift of Morillot apparantly bore fruit. Durry's 'thèse complémentaire', 'Les Panégyrique de Trajan' is an edition with a still unsurpassed commentary of Pliny's wellknown Panegyric. Included is also the postcard which accompanied the gift to Durry. In 1964 Durry himself was also appointed Dean) (Cover worn. Back slightly damaged.
