‎THE AUSCHWITZ ALBUM was found by a young Jewish girl (Lili Jacob Meier) during the final days of the Third Reich, when she was awaiting liberation. The album is the only surviving visual evidence of the entire process of extermination as perpetrated by the Nazis against the Jews, except for the actual murder itself. The photos are presumed to have been taken by Ernst Hofmann or by Bernhard Walter, two SS men, although there is no conclusive evidence of this. The time frame of the photos is May or June 1944, which saw the liquidation of a massive number of Hungarian Jews. Lili herself was the sole surviving member of her family, who had been deported from the Carpathians, from a small community living in Bielke. The photographs, all in black and white, are accompanied by text written by Peter Hellmann, and the images are haunting: men and women, entire families, waiting on the ramps after their exhausting journey by cattle cars to Auschwitz-Birkenau; wondering looks; doubt, uncertainty, hope clouding their faces, as they wonder about their fate; old people, young children, the infirm, all waiting to be selected for what we now know would be certain death. These images are not only poignant but horrifying because the threat to these innocents is implied in the photographs, with the crematoria looming in the background, with the implacable SS presence on the ramps and all over. I will not soon forget these images.‎

‎Jean-François JONVELLE (Cavaillon 1943 - Paris 2002) est un photographe de mode et de publicité, réputé pour ses portraits de femmes, d'actrices ... ses publicité dont "Demain, j'enlève le bas" de l'afficheur Avenir. Jean-François Jonvelle a été initié à la photographie par Georges Glasberg. A 20 ans, il devient l'assistant du photographe américain Richard Avedon, puis travaille en indépendant. "Quand je photographie une femme, avait-il dit, je veux qu'elle sache qu'elle est la plus belle de la terre, parce qu'une femme qui se sent belle est vraiement la plus belle femme du monde".Ce tirage représente une jeune femme blonde, muse au regard complice, en légers dessous, un berret de marin, des socquettes blanches et petites derby à talons, elle tient dans son dos une maquette de voilier aux voiles blanches. Spontanéité, fraîcheur, naturel, complicité caractérisent cette photographie de Jean-François Jonvelle. ‎

‎La société Decauville, via sa filiale Société des voitures automobiles Decauville, s'est engagée dans l'automobile aux côtés de la société De Dion-Bouton pour laquelle elle avait réalisé 3000 tricycles à moteur. Après plusieurs années d'études, Decauville présenta sa Voiturelle (1898-1903) à partir de la petite voiture «le Guédon», nommée ensuite la Decauville, cétait une voiturette (conçue à bordeaux par L'architecte naval Joseph Guédon et l'ingénieur Cornilleau). Cornillau devint ainsi l'ingénieur en chef de la société des automobiles Decauville implantée 13 boulevard Malesherbes à Paris. En 1898 la voiturelle fit son apparition. Ce fut la première automobile à essence produite en série a être équipée de roues avant indépendantes et d'une prise directe.......Superbe Photographie ........en trés bon état (very good condition). en trés bon état ‎
