Ian Fleming, an active bird watcher, appropriated the author's name for his novels' lead character. The first element of Simon's work is a photographic inventory of the women, weapons and vehicles of James Bond films made over the past fifty years. This visual database of interchangeable variables used in the production of fantasy examines the economic and emotional value generated by their repetition. In the second element of the work, Simon casts herself as the ornithologist James Bond, identifying, photographing, and classifying all the birds that appear within the 24 films of the James Bond franchise. ‎Summary On 20 October 1870 pope Pius IX adjourned the First Vatican Council, because of the Italian Rissorgimento troops approaching the city of Rome. Given that the Council had only opened less than a year prior, on 8 December 1869, the act was emblematic. The council, as the Catholic Church's protective response against all things new - rationalism, liberalism, naturalism, materialism, and pantheism - was overtaken by history. ‎In her work, Lisa Vlaemminck explores the boundaries of painting, creating an exciting, vibrating and disorienting universe. In her images, she questions very classical phenomena in painting, such as the landscape and the still life, by freezing them behind semi-transparent layers of paint. We catch a glimpse that feels familiar, but soon find that nothing is what it seems. Vlaemminck's work oscillates between the microscopic and the interstellar, as well as the amorphous spaces in between. Image, material, shape, texture and form mutate into compositional playgrounds floating in a newly created universe where different laws and rules apply. The book 'Screensaver Error' is conceived as a symmetrical, folded stack of sheets with images of Lisa's paintings and collages. At the heart of the book is the sixty-metre long, worm-shaped textile sculpture, which runs like a stream through the book for many pages. The book consists of one section of 144 pages held together in the centre by coloured bookbinder's thread. The 'stack' of sewn paper sheets are not trimmed on the cut, creating a convex shape that is entirely in keeping with the language of Lisa's work. As an object, the book has the status of an autonomous work of art. Dominique De Groen wrote an electrically charged shimmering poem tailored to the work. The introductory text was written by Simon Delobel. In KIOSK, Lisa Vlaemminck presented a series of new paintings and a sixty-metre long textile sculpture that occupied the various exhibition spaces. For the design of the fabric, Lisa worked patterns that form a long colour gradient. At the end of the exhibition, the sculpture, Meat A Morph Hose, was cut into 35 separate, new sculptures that were offered as unique artworks. The artist is reprented by gallery rodolphe janssen‎

‎In the tradition of painting, copies and homages are an age-old phenomenon. Dieter Durinck, however, gives this classic trend an entirely new and personal interpretation in his Bootleg series. In his own way, Durinck here translates well-known and lesser-known works from the 20th century by repainting them in a combination of bright green and black oil paint. This collection has since grown to 36 artworks by very different artists. In doing so, he not only pays homage to this art history but also questions how we come to know and experience these works today, as a reproduction rather than an original. Or in the words of John Berger: 'the uniqueness of the original now lies in it being the original of a reproduction' (Ways of Seeing 21). Durinck himself chooses which works to include within the series, creating a very personal view of history. The no-holds-barred subjectivity of this particular art collection is further highlighted by Durinck's toxic green glasses, which both refer to the similar green computer screens of the 1980s and remind them of the night-vision images typical of Gulf War I. It also unwittingly echoes Thomas Ruff's famous series of night shots that refer to that same war. Posture Editions N 51 forms a retrospective of this meaningful collection of paintings and reflects on Durinck's art history with texts by Simon Delobel, C line Mathieu and Gabriela Gonz lez Rond n and Alex Deforce. In the book, Durinck combines the green-and-black paintings with grids he recovers from old transfer films from the pre-computer era or repetitive patterns he finds in objects and assembles into graphic backgrounds.‎
