‎First edition of these sermons by Danish-Norwegian bishop Peder Hersleb. Peder Hersleb (1689–1757) was a prominent Danish-Norwegian bishop and reformer. Born in Stod, Norway, to a family with deep roots in the Lutheran Church he was educated in Trondheim and Copenhagen earning recognition for his theological and rhetorical skills. He became a military chaplain in Holstein and later served as court preacher to King Frederick IV. In 1730 he was appointed bishop of Akershus in Norway, where he introduced significant reforms including better catechism instruction, confirmation practices and church governance.
