Paesaggio is a periodical publication. Each edition comprises a collection of landscapes by different artists, in form of text and without using images. Texts/landscapes may assume different forms: artworks in form of a text, documents, notes, dialogues. The project aims at bearing witness to the way contemporary artists relate to landscape (intended as genre, subject of research, vision/vista, history...) today, without using images - only words. This issue has been guest-edited by Hans Ulrich Obrist. The selection of the authors is strictly connected to the 2011 Serpentine Gallery ,Garden Marathon, the sixth in the Gallery's Marathon series curated by Obrist. The event explored the concept of the garden. A product of the creative encounter between the man-made and the natural, between order and disorder, the garden can offer productive metaphors for the interactions between human life and time, care, thought or space.

Founder?s Choice, compiled by architect Luc Deleu (b. 1944), is the first comprehensive, richly illustrated, and large-scale overview of the activities of T.O.P. office, founded in 1970. In ten thematically and chronologically structured chapters, the book presents a body of work that is as versatile and elusive as it is coherent. From completed buildings to competition proposals, from small-scale interventions to global concepts ? this book invites the reader to reflect on humanity?s spatial presence on Earth and to discover meaning and direction in it through art and architecture. Together with T.O.P. office, Luc Deleu spent over half a century building an architectural and artistic oeuvre across a variety of media. At the same time, he critically reflected on his own practice as well as on the role of architecture and urban planning in general. As both reader and writer, he searched for the words to clarify and substantiate his position, resulting in a unique body of texts. Luc Deleu: A Reader brings together his most important texts, lectures, and articles for the first time ? from the Orbanist Manifesto (1980) to Darling Springs: A Call for Beauty (2024). The book opens with a conversation between Hans Ulrich Obrist, Nico Dockx, and Luc Deleu.

Long-awaited debut of American painter Lois Dodd ?Dodd is a chronicler of what others seem to miss.? ? Katy Hessel Dodd?s small, intimately scaled paintings are almost always completed in one plein-air sitting. Her subjects include trees, laundry on clotheslines, New England outbuildings, lush summer gardens, and views of and through windows. She often returns to familiar motifs repeatedly at different times of the year with dramatically varied results. Her paintings insist on the worth of what is often overlooked, revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary, and inviting viewers to slow down, to look closely, and to find meaning in the passing moment. With contributions by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Artistic Director of the Serpentine Galleries; Janice McNab, fellow at the Women?s International Study Center (Santa Fe); Karen Wilkin, New York-based curator and critic specializing in twentieth-century modernism; Katy Hessel, art historian and founder of The Great Women Artists podcast; Louise Bjeldbak Henriksen, curator at Kunstmuseum Den Haag; and many others. This book is published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at Kunstmuseum Den Haag, on view from 30 August 2025 to 6 April 2026.

The companion volume to the large-scale exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler, featuring works on loan from collections in Europe and overseas.<br>Over the sixty years of his artistic career, Gerhard Richter (* 1932 in Dresden) has produced a standardsetting oeuvre whose thematic and stylistic diversity has no equal among the art of our time. This extensive monograph is the first to present the complete range of the numerous works Richter realized as series, cycles, and spaces. It includes figurative paintings, such as landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, many of which are based on photographs, such as the series S. and Child, a personal and intimate variation on the traditional subject of the Madonna and Child. It also features abstract works, for which Richter draws from a changing repertoire of forms and colors to produce both small and monumental paintings. This generously sized volume reveals an astonishing spectrum of Richter's paintings in all of their dimensions and techniques.

When Benedikt Taschen asked the most important portrait photographer working today, Annie Leibovitz, to collect her pictures in a SUMO-sized book, she was intrigued by the challenge. The project took several years to develop and when it was finally published in 2014, it weighed in at 26 kg (57 pounds). This incredible collection is now available in an accessible XXL book format. Leibovitz drew on more than 40 years of work, starting with the photojournalism she did for Rolling Stone magazine in the 1970s through the conceptual portraits she made for Vanity Fair and Vogue. She selected iconic images-such as John Lennon and Yoko Ono entwined in a last embrace-as well as portraits that had rarely, if ever, been seen before. The Annie Leibovitz SUMO covered political and cultural history, from Queen Elizabeth II and Richard Nixon to Laurie Anderson and Lady Gaga. What I had thought of initially as a simple process of imagining what looked good big, what photographs would work in a large format, became something else, Leibovitz says. The book is very personal, but the narrative is told through popular culture. It's not arranged chronologically and it's not a retrospective. It's more like a roller coaster. Fans of Leibovitz and her many celebrated subjects can now enjoy that same roller coaster ride for themselves with this unlimited edition.
