Coll'aggiunta di alcune annotazioni nelle quali si accennano vari Decreti Apostolici e de' capitoli generali per la dichiarazione e moderazione di alcuni punti delle medesime costituzioni. Si aggiungono in fine le Bolle e decreti che si devono leggere da' Regolari in capitolo o nella pubblica Mensa ogni anno ne' Giorni stabiliti. Trasportati in lingua italiana....‎

‎Roma Stamperia della reverenda camera apostolica 1718 In-8°, pp. (14), 120, (6), bella legatura alle armi con piatti in crta marezzata e dorso in pelle. Ai piatti triplice cornice lineare e a palmette, ai quattro angoli fregio floreale, al centro di entrambi i piatti stemma vescovile della famiglia Albani, dorso con ricchi fregi e titolo in oro su tassello. Alcune abrasioni ai piatti che causano alcune mancanze di dorature allo stemma. Interno molto fresco, nel complesso buono.‎

‎Tra le dissertazioni a metà fra antiquaria ed erudizione del Calmet (1672-1757) che era anche autore di un curioso trattato apparso nel 1746 dal titolo Dissertations sur les apparitions des anges, des demons & des esprits. Et sut les reuenans et vampires. De Hongrie, de Boheme, de Morauie & de Silefie in cui ammetteva l’esistenza dei vampiri. Tra le dissertazioni vale la pena di citare “Sovra il primo Linguaggio, e la confusione seguita a Babele”, “Sopra Molocco Dio degli Ammoniti”, Gli Ebrei avevan’elli Carnefici”, “Sopra la malattia di Giobbe”. ‎

‎Opera certamente molto laudevole, a studiosi assai comoda, & communemente a tutti utilissima... (per i tipi di Antonio Bellono) Genoa, 1537. In-8 gr. (mm. 277x187), p. pelle bazana settecentesca, dorso a cordoni con ricca decorazione e tit. oro su tassello, 14 cc.nn., CCLXXXII cc.num., titolo in rosso e nero, grande vignetta xilografata al frontespizio con lo stemma della Repubblica e il motto Aurea libertas vexillum Genue; al verso' una bella composizione (pure xilografata) raffigura San Giorgio che uccide il drago. Il testo ornato da fregi e grandi capilettera figurati a vignetta, inc. su legno. Al fine: Con diligentia & opera del nobile Laurentio Lomellino Sorba stampati &c. per Antonio Bellono Taurinense, a d xviii de Mazzo.Illustre studioso, umanista e geografo, il genovese Agostino Giustiniani (1470-1536) matur precocemente la sua vocazione religiosa e il 23 sett. 1514 fu nominato vescovo di Nebbio (nella Corsica settentrionale).. Dei sei libri che compongono i suoi "Castigatissimi annali..", il primo, che giunge fino al 1100, interamente autonomo rispetto alla narrazione degli annalisti sincroni medievali. Le carte I-XXVII sono occupate da una "Descrittione della Lyguria" che fornisce una originale e articolata rappresentazione della realt ligure del tempo, nelle sue componenti demografiche, economiche e urbanistiche. Per il primo, come per i successivi libri, il Giustiniani non manc di utilizzare anche i documenti dell'Archivio del Comune, il che gli permise di narrare con sufficiente ricchezza le vicende genovesi per periodi non coperti dagli annalisti precedenti (l'Alto Medioevo, appunto, ma soprattutto gli anni di met Quattrocento trattati nel libro V). Per gli anni 1514-28 gli "Annali" rappresentano la fonte primaria per la storia genovese. Fra i contributi pi significativi si devono inoltre ricordare le notizie sulle figure culturali di spicco della citt, specie per il XV e XVI secolo... Cos Dizionario Biograf. ‎Second edition of Tornielli’s great work in which he delves into Biblical architectural prototypes from Noah’s Ark to the Temple of Jerusalem and historical quandaries, and explores topics related to geography and natural science in the bible. The illustrations accompanying the present work provide numerous theoretical and practical insights into the topic of sacred architecture and are used as arguments for Tornielli’s fundamental thesis - that there is a continuous lineage from Biblical prototypes through classical culture to the contemporary Renaissance era. His approach to Scripture, focusing on historical analysis, was pioneering and influenced subsequent generations of Biblical scholars. “Tornielli personally intervened in the lively debate on these historical-Biblical themes, addressing in particular the positions of Benito Arias Montano (Exemplar sive de sacris fabricis liber, 1572) and Juan Bautista Villalpando (In Ezechielem explanationes , 1596-1604).” (Rovetta, The Theme of the Central Plan in Lorenzo Binago). Agostino Tornielli (1543-1622), a native of Novara, Italy, was a clergyman and member of the Barnabite religious order, commonly known for their association with the Church of St. Barnabas in Milan. The Barnabites placed great emphasis on learning, considering it crucial for religious devotion, and thus, they cultivated various branches of knowledge within their order. The first edition was published in Milan in 1609/1610, the present second edition in 1611, a third edition in Antwerp in 1620. ‎

‎"Entre 1994 et 1996, je me suis rendu plusieurs fois à Sarajevo, pendant le siège de la ville. Durant ces séjours, j’ai réalisé plusieurs reportages en me consacrant surtout à la résistance de l’esprit de ces gens plutôt qu'au conflit en lui-même. Cela m’a donné l’opportunité de côtoyer beaucoup de personnes et de partager leur quotidien. Aujourd’hui, après beaucoup d’hésitation et de curiosité craintive, je me dis qu’il faut retourner sur ces lieux et vers ces personnes qui m’ont insufflé tant de frissons et d’adrénaline, histoire de savoir ce qu'ils sont devenus. Enfants devenus adolescents, jeunes au regard mûr et adultes qui n’avaient pas changé à une ride près. Fermi was awarded the Nobel prize in 1938 for these discoveries.""Acting on this idea, (Fermi reasoned that neutrons should be more effective than alpha particles in producing radioactive elements because they are not repelled by the nuclear charge and thus have a much greater probability of entering the target nuclei) Fermi bombarded several elements of increasing atomic numbers with neutrons. He hoped to find an artificial radioactivity produced by the neutrons. His first success was with fluorine. The neutron source was a small ampul containing beryllium metal and radon gas. The detecting apparatus consisted of rather primitive Geiger-Müller counters. Immediately thereafter Fermi, with the help of Amaldi, D’Agostino, Rasetti, and Segrè, carried out a systematic investigation of the behavior of elements throughout the periodic table. In most cases they performed chemical analysis to identify the chemical element that was the carrier of the activity. In the first survey, out of sixty-three elements investigated, thirty-seven showed an easily detectable activity. The nuclear reactions of (n, a), (n, p), and (n, ?) were then identified, and all available elements, including uranium and thorium, were irradiated. In uranium and thorium the investigators found several forms of activity after bombardment but did not recognize fission. Fermi and his collaborators, having proved that no radioactive isotopes were formed between lead and uranium, put forward the natural hypothesis that the activity was due to transuranic elements. These studies, which were continued by Otto Hahn, Lise Meitner, Irène Joliot Curie, Frédéric Joliot, and Savitch, culminated in 1938 in the discovery of fission by Hahn and Fritz Strassmann.""(DSB).""The present papers are a summary of these letters (the letters from the team communicated almost weakly to ""Ricerca Scientifica"") for the English speaking readers. ""When we (Fermi and Segre) went to Cambridge, we discussed with him (rutherford), in great detail, our work. The work which had been accomplished up to that date by our group is summarized in a paper which was presented by Lord Rutherford to the Royal Society (Paper No. 98). The manuscript of this paper had been prepared in Rome and delivered to him in Cambridge. he read it immediately with great attention, made several corrections to improve our English, and turned it over to the Royal Society. I asked him whether it would be possible to obtain a speedy publication and he immediately answered ""What did you think I was President of the Royal Society for ?"" LONDON ""The Electromagnetic Equations of the Superconductor"", pp. 71-88.""In 1933 shortly before Heinz London joined his brother at Oxford, W. Meissner and R. Ochsenfeld made a startling discovery. It was well known that currents in superconductors flow in such a way as to shield points inside the material from changes in the external magnetic field. This indeed is an obvious property of any resistance less medium, fully discussed by Maxwell in 1873 long before the discovery of superconductivity. But a superconductor does more. Whereas a zero resistance medium only counteracts changes in the field, it actually tends to expel the field present in its interior before cooling.... The London quickly saw its implications and in 1935 published a joint paper on the electrodynamics of superconductors, in which they replaced (paper by Deaver and Fairbanks) by a new phenomenological equation connecting the current with the magnetic rather than the electric field...
