Both inscriptions by hand. The year indication of a Bonfils photograph is very rare.The picture shows the famous falling stone but now supported by a crude new square pillar. The Paul Getty museum shows a similar photograph (allthough in smaller size) dated 1872, without de new supporting pillar. This extraordinary large photograph is in fine condition, notwithstanding the margins of the board which show some foxing spots and dustsoiling. The board's corners are also a bit damaged with small loss of material,1 small spot just touching the lower margin of the picture.."
