Jean-Marie Picard est un graveur sur bois formé aux Beaux Arts de Nîmes. Au début des années 90 il collabore avec latelier Jacomet, cest aux côtés de Garouste, Arroyo, Debré et Moebius quil réalise ses premières estampes. En 2013 il participe à la création de latelier DPJ à Sète spécialisé dans la gravure. Latelier édite de nombreuses estampes avec Combas , Di rosa , Ocampo, Pencreach , Ichiba . Par la suite il crée sa propre maison d'éditions Medium Rare, il travaille alors avec Jean-Michel Alberola, Willem, Charles Burns, Paquito Bolino, Pat Andréa.
