With 4 halftitles, 4 engraved handcoloured frontispieces and 76 fine hand-coloured plates (stipple-and line engravings), in all 80 plates. Text, as well as leaves fine and clean.‎

Les gravures nous décrivent différents artisans, vendeurs avec leurs outils et produits, des costumes et personnages, scène de la ville ou de la campagne, militaire et autres, le texte est de Breton de la Martinière, qui même s’il avoue n’avoir jamais voyagé, s’est inspiré des meilleures sources à sa diposition. First english edition, the charming plates mainly depict various artisans and vendors with their tools and products but some are devoted to costumes of emperors, ladies and soldiers. 4 volumes 8°. With 80 copper plates. P1-11 ‎
