Franciscus, one ground plan of the Portiuncula chapel, one plan of the Portiuncula chapel and basilica, and one view of the S. Bavo church in Haarlem, Netherlands), 17cm., text in Latin, contemporary full-leather binding (faded gilt title and decorations on spine, some usual traces of use, intact though and in good condition), text clean and bright, small part of paper (8mm.) of upper margin of title page missing (without loss of text), good condition, rare, [GROUWELS Mathias, born in Itteren near Maastricht (Netherlands, Limburg) 1666, died in Leuven (Belgium), on the 14th February 1730, professed in the monastery Slavante nearby Maastricht in 1687, teached philosophy and/or theology in Venlo, Roermond and Leuven. This 'critical' history by Grouwels contained, at his time and till long thereafter, the most complete existing overview and collection of documents regarding Portiuncula and its indulgences.
