"The original exploiter of what may be called 'gas-pine therapy' was one Hercule Sanche, who modestly described himself as the 'Discoverer of the Laws of Spontaneous Cure of Diseases'. Of course, Sanche did not 'discover' this long known truth at all, but he must be given credit for appreciating its commercial value". (Cramp).
