Roland SABATIER (né en 1942) fait ses études aux Beaux-Arts, et travaille comme "cartoon editor" au magazine Lui ; il publie ses dessins d'humour pour les revues Gault et Millau, VSD, Sciences et Vie, Pilote, Astrapi, Pif Gadget... En parallèle, il se tourne vers le livre d'enfants et collabore avec les éditions Fernand Nathan et Gallimard. Enfin, il s'aventure dans le monde imaginaire du "petit peuple", fées, lutins, elfes. Sa femme Claudine se charge souvent de la mise en couleurs de ses dessins. Il cotoie de nombreux dessinateurs de presse grâce à son apartenance au HA ! (Humoristes Associés). Ses silhouettes rondes et étalées, mais traitées tout en détail, dégagent humour et humanité. Maquette pour la revue Gault et Millau où comment le déballage d'un service à thé procure une joie sans pareille... La dissonance de la décoration intérieure est un écho à celle du couple. Traces de scotch dans la marge supérieure et salissures au dos.
