Ouvrage poétique. Le texte, un court paragraphe disposé en milieu de page, fait face à l'illustration en noir tout en courbes, scandées de formes pointues, évoquant des paysages lunaires et fantastiques. La belle reliure dorigine est très bien conservée, avec ces motifs typiques de la géométrisation "Années 30". Très célèbre en son temps, John Vassos (1898-1985) est un dessinateur dorigine grecque qui fit toute sa carrière aux États-Unis. Létonnant roman du couple Vassos na jamais été repris en volume, mais a été remarqué par les grands journaux américains de lépoque. Ce roman a été acquis par la BNF en 2004. Dos insolé.

In 8. Dim. 24,5x16,5 cm. Pp. 59. Raro volume del 1907 contenente due novelle in prima edizione tradotte dal Lorenzo Morgana che ne ha curato l'edizione. La prima è "L'ultimo abencerage" di Chateaubriand. La seconda è "Il lebbroso della città d'Aosta" di Xavier de MAistre. Ispirato a una storia vera accaduta nella città d'Aosta nel 1797, narra di un uomo malato di lebbra che venne rinchiuso nella Torre dello spavento oggi nominata Torre del lebbroso. Note manoscritte. In buone condizioni e completo. Copertina editoriale in buone condizioni generali con lievi usure ai margini e dorso. Etichetta manoscritta al dorso. Legatura in buone condizioni. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con fioriture. Scarce volume of 1907 containing two short novels in first edition translated by Lorenzo Morgana who cared the edition. The first one is "L'ultimo abencerage" by Chateaubriand. The second one is "Il lebbroso della città d'Aosta" by Xavier de MAistre. The npvel is inspired to a real story happenned in the city of Aosta in 1797, talks about a illed man closed in the Torre dello spavento today named Torre del lebbroso. Handwritten notes.
