One hundred and fifty years ago, the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch was born. The Munch Museum chose the Mercator Fund to provide the catalog for their Munch on Paper exhibition. During his career, Edvard Munch made some 850 prints and 8,000 drawings. His artistic production on paper forms a repertoire all of his own, although some of it is also associated with his paintings, as preparatory studies or revivals of old motifs. For the first time, Munch's oeuvre is brought together in its entirety on paper: this book not only shows the best-known prints and drawings, but also collects children's drawings, sketches, caricatures and numerous curiosities.
